School Safety Session by DMC, Dahej

School Safety Awareness Week, a crucial initiative for disaster risk reduction and preparedness, was actively observed in Bharuch District from January 29th to February 3rd, 2024, as per directives from the Collector Office. The District Management Committee (DMC) Dahej spearheaded “MEGHA EVENT” training sessions for primary school students, focusing on hazard awareness and response measures.
The program commenced on January 29th at Primary School Dahej, followed by sessions at Primary School Rahiyad on January 30th, and Primary School Jageshwar on January 31st. These trainings aimed to educate students, teachers, and staff about potential hazards, their impacts, and necessary precautions.
Participants learned essential “dos and don’ts” in disaster scenarios and received practical demonstrations of response measures. Key aspects covered included evacuation procedures, basic first aid techniques, and search and rescue operations. The sessions effectively enhanced understanding and preparedness, equipping the school community with vital skills to mitigate risks and respond effectively during emergencies. This initiative significantly contributed to building a safer school environment and fostering a culture of disaster resilience.
