A Review Meeting by Hon. Relief Commissioner
On January 12, 2023, at 10:30 AM, Hon. Relief Commissioner Shri Harshad R. Patel convened a crucial review meeting with the Bharuch District Disaster Management Authority. Held at the Collector Office’s Video Conference Room, the meeting aimed to assess the district’s preparedness and action plans for potential disasters and emergencies.
Key representatives from various government agencies and Disaster Management Committees (DMCs) presented their respective plans. Shri N. R. Dhandhal, Resident Additional Collector, outlined the District Administration’s strategies. Shri Y. M. Patel, Assistant Director IS & H, detailed the Industrial Safety and Health Department’s measures. Mr. Saibal Sarkar, DPO-GSDMA, presented insights from the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority and the Disaster Control Room.
Furthermore, Mr. M. B. Patel, President of the Dahej Eco-Friendly Society (DMC-Dahej), and Mr. Kotadiya, Manager of the Disaster Prevention & Management Center (DPMC-Ankleshwar), showcased their respective organizations’ readiness and action plans. The meeting facilitated a comprehensive review of the district’s disaster response capabilities, ensuring coordinated efforts to mitigate the impact of natural or man-made emergencies. The focus was on enhancing proactive measures and improving inter-departmental collaboration.
