Sessions on Environmental Protection

A significant environmental awareness session, organized by the Dahej Eco-Friendly Society (DEFS) in conjunction with the Dahej Industries Association, took place on May 4th, 2023, in Dahej. The event coincided with the visit of Shri ShriDadaguruji, who had recently completed an extraordinary 3200km “Nirahar Narmada Parikrama.” This pilgrimage, undertaken without food, highlighted the profound connection between spiritual practice and environmental consciousness, particularly concerning the sacred Narmada River.

The session focused on the critical importance of protecting Maa Narmada, a lifeline for the region. Villagers and representatives from various Dahej industries gathered to listen to insightful speeches emphasizing the river’s ecological significance and the urgent need for conservation efforts. Speakers underscored the detrimental impacts of pollution and unsustainable practices, stressing the collective responsibility to safeguard this vital resource.

The event served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration, fostering a shared understanding of the challenges facing the Narmada and exploring potential solutions. The presence of Dadaguruji, whose 1400-day fast symbolized unwavering dedication, further amplified the message of environmental stewardship. The session concluded with a symbolic tree plantation drive at the Narmada Parikrama Jetty and Maa Reva Ambika Aashram, with all attendees participating. This act served as a tangible commitment to nurturing the environment and preserving the sanctity of the Narmada River.
