Learning Session on Onboarding & Data Entry on ChemIndia Portal

A crucial learning session on onboarding and data entry for the ChemIndia portal was recently held at the Dahej Eco-Friendly Society’s Disaster Management Center in Dahej. This initiative, a collaboration with and directed by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, aimed to empower stakeholders with the skills to effectively utilize this vital resource.
The ChemIndia portal (https://chemindia.chemicals.gov.in), launched by the DCPC, serves as a comprehensive platform for collecting statistical data related to the Indian chemical sector. Information regarding production, installed capacity, exports, imports, and other key metrics are gathered to build a detailed Chemical Inventory of India. This inventory is crucial for informed decision-making and strategic planning within the industry.
The session featured prominent figures, including Mr. Ram Sajeevan, Director of DCPC, and Data Analyst Mr. Mohit Kumar Sinha. Following a welcome address, Mr. Sinha delivered a comprehensive presentation, complete with a live demonstration of the portal’s functionality. Participants were then given the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session, clarifying any doubts and ensuring a thorough understanding of the data entry process. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the collaborative effort and the importance of the ChemIndia initiative. This training equips stakeholders to contribute accurate and timely data, ultimately strengthening the ChemIndia database and its value to the nation’s chemical sector.
