Awareness Programme on Chemical Weapons Convention

A highly informative Awareness Programme on the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) was successfully conducted on January 4, 2023, at Dahej PCPIR. Organized by the Indian Chemical Council (ICC) in collaboration with DEFS & DIA, the event drew 76 representatives from various industries within the Dahej PCPIR.
Mr. Raju Patel, Advisor at the Chemical Weapons Convention Helpdesk, Vadodara, and representing the ICC, led the session. The program commenced with an inaugural address followed by a welcome to the ICC representative. Mr. Patel then delivered a comprehensive presentation covering crucial aspects of the CWC. Key topics included an overview of the CWC, declarations of scheduled chemicals and DOCs, and the important features of the CWC Act-2000. Participants also gained insights into declaration criteria, registration processes, initial declarations, corrections, and e-filing.
The interactive session included a quiz based on test papers, a dedicated question-and-answer segment, and a feedback session. Mr. Patel’s expertise and clear explanations were invaluable to the attendees. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a successful effort to raise awareness about the CWC and its implications for the chemical industry in Dahej.
